GOP Changes Rhetoric NOT Policy Trying to SCAM Voters

"It is the policy, stupid" is apt when describing the rhetoric coming out of the RNC Chair on what needs to be done at RNC.  

Anyone with a brain can connect the dots to know this RNC Chair is bought and paid for by the Koch Brothers after what happened in Wisconsin before he became Chair, and his role in fighting the Recall efforts financed by the Koch's after he was Chair.

Guess you could say the Koch's have pretty much bought the GOP up and down the line with groups like the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) (exact mount from Koch's unknown but in the millions plus Kochs sit on their board), Americans for Prosperity ($5,610,781), Freedom Works, Heritage Foundation ($4,115,571), Cato Foundation ($13,887,640) and other groups including being heavily invested in the Federalist Society ($2,058,999).  Originally AFP and Freedom Works were one group Citizens as part of Sound Economy (CSE) splitting in 2004.  At the end of 2012 former Rep Dick Armey left Freedom Works complaining about the organization and received millions in severance.  (Note figures are from a 2011 report on Koch Industries) 

Priebus was the Wisconson GOP Chair when the Koch's made a bid for WI to win the Governor's seat and legislature in order to destroy the unions in Wisconsin.  IMO it was a test case for the Koch's to go into other states to try and destroy unions nationwide.  When Koch's who helped get the GOP out of the hole say jump would bet Priebus asks "How High?"  Believe we can rightly assume that this effort by the RNC Chair with his rhetoric on reaching out is another Koch Bros idea.

 Doubt if the RNC liked my reply to their survey on what I thought of the last election.  Also took the opportunity to go back to 2010 on how they had bought states in order to gerrymand House Districts which was flat out dishonest.  Not  the nicest replies I have made to a survey but the whole survey hit me wrong.  The questions were more about image and left me with the feeling there is no change coming unless it is further right. Chairman Priebus is silent in most instances refusing to go after any GOP for being too hard right with their outlandish rhetoric so his words as well as his survey ring hollow.  Most of the time when  the RNC, NRSC, or NRCC go after a candidate for saying something really stupid, they threaten not to fund but then fund anyway as all the rhetoric is for public consumption as we saw in the Todd Akin case.

The RNC said it wouldn't support Akin, yet they found a way around it and ARE supporting Akin thru the NRSC

Imagine that - RNC Chair Priebus lied as the RNC funneled money for Aiken through the NRSC.  With that said, why would we believe anything Priebus has to say?

This is one person who considers the GOP's New Voter Outreach Strategy an abject failure.  Party hasn't changed one iota since the 2012 general election only their rhetoric is changing.  CPAC proved that when the hard right took over -- same hard right who owns the GOP who are stuck on stupid.

On Monday, following its loss in the 2012 presidential election, the Republican National Committee (RNC) released an autopsy report that aims to “grow the Party and improve Republican campaigns.” The so-called “Growth and Opportunity Project” spoke with “more than 2,600 people, both outside Washington and inside the Beltway” about how the party can appeal to the nation’s changing demographics of voters and start winning elections, and produced more than 200 recommendations to help Republicans connect with every-day Americans .

And while the project seeks to position the GOP as a more caring and inclusive party, a closer examination of the report reveals a big disconnect between the principles and rhetoric the RNC espouses and the policies the party continues to advance:  

RNC RHETORIC:   

“[W]e do need to make sure young people do not see the Party as totally intolerant of alternative points of view. Already, there is a generational difference within the conservative movement about issues involving the treatment and the rights of gays — and for many younger voters, these issues are a gateway into whether the Party is a place they want to be.

 ACTUAL POLICY:

Republicans are spending millions of dollars defending the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), generally oppose federal nondiscrimination laws to protect the LGBT community and marriage equality.

 RNC RHETORIC:

“The Republican Party must be the champion of those who seek to climb the economic ladder of life. Low-income Americans are hard-working people who want to become hard-working middle-income Americans. Middle-income Americans want to become upper-middle-income, and so on. We need to help everyone make it in America.”

 ACTUAL POLICY

Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) budget, released last week, slashes the health and safety net programs that middle and lower income Americans rely on — like Medicare, Medicaid, and food stamps — while proposing tax code reforms that would significantly benefit top-income earners and corporations. A recent analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities concluded that the budget “would get at least 66 percent of its $5 trillion in non-defense budget cuts over ten years (relative to a continuation of current policies) from programs that serve people of limited means.” GOP governors have offered plans to axe sate corporate and personal income taxes, replacing them instead with an increase in the sales tax. Such policies would directly benefit the rich at the expense of the poor.

 RNC RHETORIC 

“We have to blow the whistle at corporate malfeasance and attack corporate welfare. We should speak out when a company liquidates itself and its executives receive bonuses but rank-and-file workers are left unemployed. We should speak out when CEOs receive tens of millions of dollars in retirement packages but middle-class workers have not had a meaningful raise in years.”

 ACTUAL POLICY 

Republicans have proposed slashing the corporate tax rate just as corporate profits are skyrocketing and wages for middle and lower income Americans remain stagnant. The GOP seeks to repeal Wall Street reform and resists any efforts to tax capital gains at a higher rate, close the carried interest loophole, or raise any taxes on higher-income earners. Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) budget, for instance, “would result in tax cuts worth an average of about $330,000 a year to households with incomes of more than $1 million a year.”

 RNC RHETORIC

“Our candidates, spokespeople, and staff need to use language that addresses concerns that are on women’s minds in order to let them know we are fighting for them.“

 ACTUAL POLICY

Republicans in Congress oppose provisions in the Affordable Care Act that provide contraception coverage to women without additional co-pays, have backed measures to allow employers to deny birth control to their female employees, voted against equal pay for equal work, and even stonewalled the Violence Against Women Act. Lawmakers on the state level have enacted numerous provisions that seek to severly restrict access to abortion services.

RNC OUTREACH = ABJECT FAILURE 

The last one totally blew my mind if the RNC thinks their changing the words about women's rights is going to convince women to vote GOP when we can see their policies and bills all around the Country to deny women their rights.  The GOP has their head buried in the sand further than I thought.  The GOP is NOT fighting for women when they want to take away contraceptives provided under healthcare or by groups like Planned Parenthood, or their access to check-ups by trying to defund Medicare, Medicaid, and AHA that has been ruled Constitutional or refusing to vote "YES" on the Violence Against Women's Act, etc.  That doesn't even include the strict regulations the GOP is putting on abortion.  It is none of my business what someone ultimately decides to do with their own body and it certainly is no business of the GOP.  For a Party that espouses 'smaller government' they sure do like to get into our everyday lives with more rules on what we can and cannot do.

BTW, my Congressman Tom Cole, R-OK, voted for Violence Against Women Act - the only member of Congress from Oklahoma who did so.  He cares about his constituents and what is best for them unlike some of the neanderthals in the GOP.  Tea Party has tried to primary him the last two times which has failed miserably.
